The Schwinn Airdyne console has changed across model generations, and some parts are no longer available new. For a failed console that cannot be repaired, Steve recommends sourcing a used Schwinn Airdyne on eBay or Craigslist as a parts donor — usually cheaper than buying a replacement console alone.

hi my name’s steve and i want to show you some general information about schwinn airdynes and their repair and their maintenance first thing i want to talk about is the console this is a console from a newer schweinerdon and this right here is a console from an older schwinn aerodyne okay oftentimes they stop reading the old one has a speedometer cable it is no longer available you cannot find it anywhere what we recommend you to do if you need a cable for your airdon is to try to find a console similar or an old bike similar either on ebay or on craigslist buy that bike and then you have some interchangeable parts because that part is no longer available and you can see exactly what that console looks like okay now in the middle of this console is a little battery a lot of times this little battery cover goes bad and you can’t find it okay that also is no longer available and inside is a little watch battery okay that you can still get if you need to but as far as any of the other parts for this console they are no longer available the newer console looks like this you cannot get the newer console either however parts for them are readily more readily available you can still get speed pickups and magnets and sensor wires so what we recommend you to do is to try to troubleshoot your monitor if it’s electronic or digital by by getting a new speed sensor but getting a new cable a sensor cable or a new magnet that goes inside your wheel those things are a lot cheaper than a new monitor which would run you around 200 dollars
